There's a reason why you came hereAnd I'm glad our paths have crossed.Your melody will linger on and on Forever in our hearts.I love the verse of love and kindnessAnd the bridges between souls.Bridges that were built by a tender heartA heart so tender as your own.I remember when you said your pain was nothing. For Jesus walked that path for you before. You praised His name like there was no tomorrow. It was then, I believe you knew His soul.So goodbye my friendYour love will burn within our hearts forever.Goodbye my friendUntil we meet againYour light will be a beacon to us allGoodbye my friend. ~jk*A tribute to you from all your hanai sisters...We love and miss you Tasha. Godspeed!:-)

Tasha, may your life on earth be a reminder to all those who remain that our Heavenly Father has blessed us with a glimpse of an angelic spirit. One who's smile would lift the most saddened soul to find happiness in something so simple as a smile. You were surely a tool in the Master's hands to help make our lives better. You will always be remembered and loved. Until We Meet Again!

Laie Girl Posting

Natasha Anela Vimahi was diagnosed with breast cancer back in 2005. She continued to work, as a schoolteacher, because it was what she LOVED most!
She stopped working in 2008 as the cancer overwhelmed and consumed her, but her love for children, education, and the importance of education remained strong within her.
Our Laie Family pulled together to make this fundraiser a fun and SUCCESSFUL event! I was the lucky one who told her how the fundraiser went and she scolded me and every in attendance, "Use that money for your childrens' education! Buy books and NEVER stop reading to your children!"
"Anela" is Hawaiian for angel. Tasha is truly an angel who guides and protects children. We LOVE

What a beautiful picture of an eternal family.

The Grouchy Ladybug

Submitted by Natasha Vimahi
I read The Grouchy Ladybug to my kindergartners and they simply loved it. Afterwards, we discussed the physical characteristics of a ladybug.
As an art activity, I provided copies of a ladybug with a plain shell. The assignment was to color the shell red-one of the physical characteristics they noticed- and to cut it out. Next, they punched holes in the shell with a hole puncher. They then pasted the ladybug on a piece of black construction paper. This created the black spots on the ladybug. A few students had a hard time cutting out the legs and so I allowed them to cut out the body and head. They drew in the legs with white chalk. It was a fun activity and the students loved it.

Tasha Pink Glove Dance

Delsa Moe

There is a young woman, named Tasha, in our community who is fighting a losing battle to breast cancer. For the past few months as her pain steadily became more frequent and more intense and the doctors verbalized a time frame of the inevitable, her friends have rallied together to make the most of Tasha's days. They vowed to make her bad days better and to make her good days terrific. Here's just a few of the things they have done in the last few months to help her "endure it well":
When Tasha surprised everyone with the comment she was hungry and wanted some food from Kua Aina Burger, her friends gently packed her into the van and made an adventure of the trip up to Haleiwa with a few stops and spontaneous entertainment on the way.
• When she had a craving for food at Hukilau CafĂ©, they all went there too. • They visit her often with massages and pedicures. • Sundays are spent with her talking, laughing and propping her pillows to make her comfortable in any way. • For Halloween, they held a pink costume party. • Tasha's cheerleaders often take their children to sing to Aunty Tasha as a distraction from her pain. • Even when the Seasider basketball teams went up to San Francisco to play earlier this year, these crazy friends turned it into a "We Love Tasha" Day.
When you have crazy and fun friends like Tasha has, who needs morphine to dull their pain? Morphine is for enduring, BFF's are for enduring it well.
